Most Rev. Dr. Athanasius Yevtich

Bishop Athanasius (Yevtich), who reposed in the Lord in 2021, was the retired bishop of Zahumlje and Herzegovina and a former professor and dean at the Orthodox Theological Faculty of Belgrade University. A disciple of the eminent theologian Archimandrite Justin Popovich, he earned his doctorate in 1967 and taught theology internationally. A prolific author, he wrote numerous books and over four hundred articles in various languages. His notable works include the five-volume set Patrologija, Christ—The Alpha and Omega, Emmanuel: The Only Begotten and Firstborn Among Many Brethren, Jesus Christ Is The Same Yesterday, Today, And Unto the Ages, Holy Emperor Constantine and the Edict of Milan, and Contemporary Ecclesiological Reminder on the Diaspora.
