Very Rev. Leonid Kishkovsky

Protopresbyter Leonid Kishkovsky, born in Warsaw, Poland, in 1943, was a prominent figure in the Orthodox Church in America (OCA). After emigrating to the United States, he completed studies at the University of Southern California and Saint Vladimir’s Seminary. Ordained a priest in 1969, he served as Rector of the Church of Our Lady of Kazan in Sea Cliff, NY, from 1974 until his repose in 2021. As the OCA's Director of External Affairs, he played a vital role in ecumenical and interfaith dialogues. Father Leonid was deeply involved in various organizations, including the Standing Conference of Canonical Orthodox Churches in the Americas (SCOBA), International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC), the World Council of Churches (WCC), and the National Council of Churches of Christ in the USA (NCC).
